Easter Activity
Online Easter Hunt
To keep your children occupied over the Easter break we have a fun online activity for them to try. 'Hunt' for the correct answers within this popular Chinese children's song. Winners will be acknowledged on our Facebook page and contacted with a special certificate. To play along click here.
UN Chinese Language Day Programs
UN Chinese Language Day will be celebrated on the 20th of April, 2020. The event was established by the UNESCO in 2010 seeking "to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six of its official working languages. To help celebrate UN Chinese Language Day we are organising several activities over the next few weeks, with something for all ages.
Children's University Activities
April School Holidays
Children’s University Australia (CUA) is hosted and administered by The University of Adelaide at its North Terrace Campus. CUA provides extra-curricular learning opportunities for children aged between 7-14 years (and 5-6 year olds with their families). The Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide is now a registered learning destination and we have 2 FREE activities on offer these school holidays. Those not involved in the program are welcome to sign up on their website or access the activities below.

Tai Chi Workshop

Tai Chi (太极) is a traditional style of Chinese Kung Fu, best known for its many health benefits and contributing to ones overall wellbeing. Join us as Master Bingchen Ye conducts a Live Tai Chi Workshop online via Zoom. For further information and to register click here.
Confucius Institute & ACYA Webinar

In conjunction with ACYA (Australia China Youth Association) we will be hosting a live webinar. The webinar will feature several guest speakers who will discuss the relevant aspects of Chinese language, culture, business and opportunities as they relate to those with a keen interest in China. Cultural Workshops
Tie-Dye Demonstration Video
Our workshops are a great way to entertain your children or explore your own creative side, while also experiencing the many different aspects of Chinese culture.
Next week we will be releasing our first instructional video for doing Tie-Dye at home. Tie-dye is a traditional form of art and craft in China. The technique involves folding, enlacing, bundling, sewing, tying needed fabrics and dipping them into dye.

Chinese Conversation Corner goes online
Tuesdays & Fridays 4:00-5:00 pm
Our FREE conversation corner is running online via Zoom.
Tuesday's session is for you to seek any personalised help you need with your language study. Friday's lesson will be a topic prepared by our volunteers and is a great opportunity for you to extend your knowledge.
This is a fantastic opportunity to practice your Chinese with a native speaker while also making new friends.

HSK Preparation Class
Thinking of sitting the HSK? We can help!
This year we are offering FREE preparation courses for those studying or interested in studying the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) Chinese proficiency test. The HSK preparation class will now operate online via Zoom.
This course is designed to:
- build up students' confidence and interest in learning Mandarin Chinese
- acquire HSK study methods and effective test-taking strategies
- familiarise yourself with the types of questions asked in the HSK exams.

As you may have seen, this year we launched our new Youtube series called - 'Nihao Mate'. This series takes a look at the different aspects of Chinese language in a fun and engaging way.
