Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre & China Cultural Centre in Sydney, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
China
To celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year and the year of the Ox in 2021, this exhibition showcases Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage from the north western Chinese province of Shaanxi.
Sponsored by Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide and presenting more than one hundred unique items of intangible cultural heritage including Ansai papercut, Xiqin embroidery, Qinqiang opera, shadow play and more, this exhibition displays the masterpieces of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Shaanxi.
The exhibition focuses on the Ox as one of the 12 traditional animal signs in Chinese zodiac. Cattle (the Ox) have been deeply integrated into people's daily life over thousands of years, playing an important role in the agricultural productivity of the Chinese nation.
