Training in China

The Overseas Chinese Teacher Training Program is offered by Confucius Institute Headquarters.

It is designed to equip trainees with systematic professional knowledge in Chinese language teaching, sound Chinese teaching ability and Chinese culture promotion ability through systematic teaching, teaching observation, case studies and trial lectures based on different characteristics of teachers of various countries.

A wide array of courses are available, including "Syllabus for International Chinese Teachers Training" Workshops, Workshops for Elementary and Secondary School Teachers, Workshops for University and Adult Education Chinese Teachers, and Workshops for Specialized Skills.

This program is taken in a variety of universities in China.

1. Application Requirements

Applicants must be professional Chinese language teachers in authorized schools, non-Chinese nationality, under 60 and in good health condition.

Upon choosing the appropriate courses, login to the application system to fill in the application form in http://laihuapeixun.chinesecio.com Link to external website and check for the application status.

The Confucius Institute at the Universtity of Adelaide is responsible for approving applications from South Australian teachers.


3. Fees

Tuition, teaching materials expenses and accommodation are covered by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. Round-trip tickets shall be covered by applicants.


4. Time Arrangements for Application and Admission

Sign up at the Application System of Training Programs for Overseas Chinese Teachers http://laihuapeixun.chinesecio.com Link to external website between October and December each year. Admission is based on the places of each course. Early applicants shall be admitted first.
