Chinese Paper Cutting for School Students

Chinese Paper Cutting or Jianzhi is the original type of papercutting design, and followed the invention of paper by Cai Lun in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The art form later spread to other parts of the world with different regions adopting their own cultural styles.

In this workshop, your students will be able to create their own designed papercutting work based on basic Chinese Papercutting skills. By introduction of this traditional art, they also will have a deeper understanding of how papercutting is used in both ancient and modern China.
