China - Australia Relations: Strategic and Regional Issues

In this third China Briefing of the year, the Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide brings together experts to present their views about the rise of China, its implications for Australia and the growing national and regional importance of this bilateral relationship.

The Tibetan Question: Between East and West

In this lecture, Professor Wang Hui will discuss how Orientalism has had an impact on the perception of Tibet and its history in the West and how political agendas and the focus on ethnicity lead to negligence of the socio-economic issues in Tibet.

Hanyu Qiao Chinese Bridge Chinese Speaking Competition for High School Students

9am - 1pm, Friday July 2
National Wine Centre of Australia,
Corner North Terrace and Hackney Road

Join the Confucius Institute and students from SA, WA, NT and the ACT as they perform cultural items and speeches competing for the right to represent Australia at the international finals in China.

Attendance at the competition is open to all who are interested in supporting students learning about China.
